Nepali Congress Or Praja Parishad

Many diaspora circles reek of Panches and Congressis, ceremonial monarchy Congressis.

As the leader of the Seven Party Alliance, Girija Koirala has to step up to the plate. I have always thought of the UML as the largest party in the alliance, and Madhav Nepal as the leader of the seven party alliance. That is just stating the fact. The oldest is not the leader, otherwise Strom Thurmond would have been President Of The United States.

As long as the Nepali Congress is vertically split, the UML is the largest party, and Madhav Nepal is the interim president in waiting. Someone who is strongly republican has to be the interim president. Narayanhiti is to be the presidential residence and office.

There is no room for dialogue no more.

The seven party alliance has to come around to the slogan of a Democratic Republic.

If the Nepali Congress were to waste this momentum, this revolution, Hamro Nepal pledges to turn the Nepali Congress into a Praja Parishad.

Parties call for more participation A statement, issued after a meeting of top SPA leaders in the capital on Wednesday, also requested civil servants to participate in the movement without hesitation, pledging that "they will be re-inducted in their respective jobs after the restoration of democracy", if fired by the present government.......... The statement has also requested hospitals, nursing homes, health centers and health workers to treat those injured in the course of the movement, free of cost, again pledging that the government formed after the restoration of democracy would compensate any losses incurred............. "We hereby direct our local committees to keep record of those coming to the forefront to suppress the movement and make the list public," the statement said. "We want to make it clear that strong action will be taken against those personnel, by the government formed after the restoration of democracy.".......... Home Ministry staff stop work to protest

Kantipur Report

KATHMANDU, April 13 - Home Ministry staff - up to under and joint secretary levels, on Wednesday stopped work for two hours beginning 10 am, through pen down to protest government atrocity on peaceful demonstrators and to express solidarity with the ongoing people's movement for democracy. Civil society leaders, doctors, professors, human rights defenders and journalists detained in Duwakot Armed Police base have urged the seven-party alliance not to stop their movement until the desired goal is achieved. Similarly, the staff of Gorkhapatra Corporation including Gorkhapatra and Rising Nepal, expressed solidarity with the ongoing democratic movement.

Meanwhile, expressing solidarity with the ongoing pro-democracy movement, some two hundred development workers in Nepal demonstrated at Jawalakhel for nearly one hour Wednesday afternoon.

Police intervened and rounded up around 20 demonstrators. Staff of the UN, donor agencies and INGOs also participated in demonstrations organized by Association of NGOs.

The demonstrators held banners and placards with slogans in support of democracy, human rights and peace in Nepal. Many demonstrators were wearing T-shirts with slogans for democracy, peace and human rights in Nepal.

"We want all the parties to the conflict to initiate the peace process. We want to see peace and development in Nepal," said Eiichi Sadamatsu, Resident Representative of Save the Children Japan, who was one of the participants.

David Mcconkey of United Mission to Nepal said he participated in the demonstration in support of peace, justice and human rights in Nepal. Similarly, Sussi Utfot of MS Nepal said she participated in the demonstration for restoration of democracy based on justice.
