चिनियाँ तेलः केरुङमा हिमपातले रोक्यो, नेपालमा भन्सारले
वीरगञ्ज डायरीः के भयो आज दिनभर ?
अस्थायी पाल र टेन्टमा आन्दोलनकारी थिएनन् । त्यो भएका ठाउँमा आगो बलिरहेको थियो । बरु लामो समयदेखि रोकिएर बसेका भारतीय ट्रकहरु भारततिर लागिरहेका थिए । तर, नेपालतर्फ भने कुनै गाडी आएका देखिन मैले । ...... सिमा नाका बन्द भएका कारण २ दिन वीरगंजमा पनि आन्दोलनकारीको कुनै किसिमको प्रदर्शन भएको थिएन । यता करिब २ महिना देखी नेपालमा फँसेका भारतिय चालकहरु भरतिय दुतावास अगाडी घर जाने वातावरण मिलाई दिन भन्दै धर्नामा बसेका थिए । भारतको बिहारमा भएको चुनावमा दशगजा क्षेत्रमा न्युन मात्रामा प्रदर्शनकारीहरु रहेको मौकामा भारतले आफ्ना नेपालमा फँसेका गाडीहरुलाई छिराउने जाल विछ्याएको हो । ..... प्राप्त जानकारीअनुसार भारतको स्थानीय प्रशासनले पर्साका अधिकारीहरुलाई आन्दोलनकारी हटाएर भारतीय गाडीहरु छिराएमा नेपालका गाडीहरु पनि पठाइदिने आश्वासन दिएको थियो । भारतीय आश्वासनपछि पर्साका जिल्ला प्रशासन प्रमुख केशवराज घिमिरेले प्रहरीलाई आन्दोलनकारी हटाउन निर्देशन दिए । सोहि बमोजिम बिहानै प्रहरीले धरपकड गरेको हो ।......त्यसलगत्तै बिहान ४ बजे देखी झण्डै ५ घण्टा सम्म वीरगञ्ज रक्सौल नाका खुलेको हो ।.....

वीरगञ्जमा रहेका २४० वटा भारतीय गाडीहरुलाई नेपालका प्रहरीले सुरक्षा दिएर मितेरी पुल हुदै सिमा कटाउन सफल भयो । तर, एउटा पनि मालसमान लोड गरेको र नेपाली गाडी नेपाल भित्रिएन्न ।

..... भारतीय गाडी पार हुनासाथ आन्दोलनकारीले फेरि मितेरी पुल आफ्नो कब्जामा लिए । वीरगंजको रजतज्यन्ती चौकबाट कुनै पनि मान्छेलाई मितेरी पुल तर्फ जान दिएको थिएन तर

११ बज्ना साथ मितेरी पुलमा १० हजार भन्दा बढी जनता आईपुगे । जनता आउना साथ प्रहरी माथी ढुङ्गामुढा प्रहार गर्दै प्रहरीलाई मितेरी पुलबाट शंक्राचार्यद्वार तर्फ लखेटन सफल भए ।

..... आन्दोलन नियन्त्रण भन्दा बाहिर गएको भन्दै आजै दिउसो ३ बजे देखी स्थानिय प्रशासनले वीरगंज लगायत आसपासका क्षेत्रमा अनिश्चतकालिन कफ्र्यु जारी गर्यो । तर, कर्फ्यू जारी भएपनि वीरगंजको चोक चोकमा प्रदर्शनकारी र प्रहरी बिच झडप भईरहेको थियो । जुन क्रम बेलुकैसम्म जारी थियो ।
वीरगञ्ज आन्दोलनमा भारतीय मारिएपछि मोदीले गरे ओलीलाई फोन
मधेशी मोर्चाद्वारा सरकारसँग वार्ता भंग गर्ने निर्णय
प्रधानमन्त्री ओलीसँग मोदीको २५ मिनेट टेलिफोन वार्ता
वीरगन्ज घटनापछि सरकार–मोर्चाबीच दूरी बढ्यो



नाका खोल्न खोज्दा वीरगन्ज तनावग्रस्त, गोली लागेर एक भारतीयको मृत्यु प्रहरीसहित डेढ दर्जन घाइते, दिउँसोदेखि कर्फ्यु
वीरगञ्जमा सरकारी दमन भएको मोर्चाको आरोप
प्रमुख पद हारेपछि कांग्रेसमा तीन नेताका तीनथरी कुरा खड्काले भने, ‘एमालेसँग भद्र सहमति भएकै थियो’



रक्सौलबाट ‘रिरुट’ भएका गाडी पनि काँकडभिट्टामा रोकिए एसएसबीले पुन: सुरक्षा जाँचको बहानामा कडाई

आन्दोलन झन् कडा हुन्छ : मोर्चा आन्दोलन विद्यार्थीको फिस घटाउन भएको होइन : यादव
जारी आन्दोलनलाई निर्णायक बनाउन यसको निरन्तरता दिनुको विकल्प नरहेको उल्लेख गर्दै सद्भावना अध्यक्ष महतोले भने, ‘अहिले भएन भने कहिल्यै हुँदैन । हाम्रा शाखा सन्तानले फेरि आन्दोलन गर्न नपरुन भनेर यसलाई निर्णायक बनाउनै पर्छ ।’ ....... मधेसमाथि मधेसीको अधिकार तथा समानताको लागि जारी आन्दोलनमा दु:ख कष्ट हुनु स्वाभाविक रहेको उल्लेख गर्दै फोरम अध्यक्ष उपेन्द्र यादवले भने– ‘यो आन्दोलन विद्यार्थीको फिस घटाउन भएको होइन । राजनीतिक अधिकार प्राप्तिको लागि हो । यसमा स–साना दु:ख कष्टलाई ख्याल गर्नु हुन्न ।’ .....

स्वायत मधेस प्रदेशको घोषणासँगै यहाँको शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, उद्योग व्यावसायलगायतका सम्पूर्ण क्षेत्रमा सुधार आउने दावी पनि उनले गरे ।

मधेसी धर्तीको यथार्थ
नेपाली मधेसका नागरिकहरुको अधिकारका बारेमा केही लेख्नु वा टिप्पणी गर्नु निकै खतरनाक विषय हुन थालेको छ । मधेसका जनताको आन्दोलनप्रति सहानूभूति राख्ने कसैको पनि देशप्रेम र राष्ट्रवाद थाहै नपाइ शंकाको दायरामा पारिन्छ । मधेस तराई घुमेर समाचार टिप्पणी लेख्नेहरु विभिन्न वक्रोक्तिका शिकार बनाइन्छन् ।

मधेसी अधिकारको खिल्ली उडाएर आफूलाई सबभन्दा ठूलो राष्ट्रवादी प्रमाणित गर्ने होड चलेको छ ।

...... राज्यको केन्द्रका रुपमा रहेका काठमाडौंका अधिकांश संचार–माध्यम र सामाजिक संजाल मधेसप्रति हदैसम्म असहिष्णु देखिन थालेका छन् । नेपाली मधेसको चर्चा गर्नु, नेपाली मधेसीका अधिकारप्रति सचेत दृष्टिकोण राख्नु र नेपाली मधेसलाई नेपालको बाँकी भू–भागसँग अलग पार्न नहुने विचार अभिव्यक्त गर्नुलाई नेपाली राष्ट्रवादविरोधी गतिविधि ठानिन थालेको छ । ..... नाकाबन्दी भएको असत्य होइन । तर, जेका लागि नाकाबन्दी भएको हो त्यो पनि असत्य होइन । संविधान निर्माणका क्रममा राज्यको केन्द्रमा निर्णायक तहमा बसेका दलका नेताहरुले नै मधेसका नेपालीहरुलाई घचेटेर नाकाबन्दीसम्म पुर्‍याएका हुन् । आफ्नो राजनीतिक स्वार्थका लागि जानी–जानी गरेका गल्तीहरुको सुधार पनि अब उनीहरुबाटै हुनुपर्दछ । ...... नाकाबन्दीमा भारतको संलग्नता घोषित भए पनि र नभए पनि मधेसको आन्दोलन नाकाबन्दीबाट निकैपर जनताको भित्रि तहसम्म पुगिसकेको छ । नाकाबन्दीको प्रभाव राजधानीमा मात्र होइन, मधेस पहाड जताततै समान रुपले परेको छ । ......

संविधान निर्माणको क्रममा मधेसप्रति देखाइएको उपेक्षा भावले सामान्य नेपाली मधेसीको चित्त दुखाएको छ । त्यो नहुँदो हो त मधेसको आन्दोलन यति उर्जाशील हुने थिएन ।

....... सिराहा जिल्लाको माडर एउटा सानो नाका हो । भारतको जयनगर नजिकको यो भूभाग कमला नदीको भारततिर निर्गम विन्दू पनि हो । यहाँको छोटी भन्सारबाट संकलन हुने राजस्व दश पन्ध्र लाख पनि नाघ्दैन । तैपनि, यो नाका सक्रिय रुपले बन्द छ । मधेसवादी दलका नेताहरु भन्दा पनि सिराहका जनता आन्दोलनमा भिडेर लागेका छन् । प्रधानमन्त्री नबन्दै केपी ओलीले जोडेका आँप र माखे सांग्लोका दुइटा तुक्काले यहाँका जनताको चित्त दुखाएको छ । विजय यादवका विचारमा राजनीतिक दलहरुले लत्तो छाडे भने पनि मधेसका युवाहरु आन्दोलनबाट पछि हट्नेवाला छैनन् । ....... ‘सिरहामा मधेशी पहाडीको विभाजन छैन । नाकाबन्दीमा पहाडीको पनि समर्थन र सहानूभूति छ । ...... रमोलका मोहम्मद खालिद आन्दोलनमा सक्रिय छन् । इस्लाम धर्मका अगुवाका रुपमा चिनिएका खालिदको भनाइ छ– ‘हामी नेपाली हौं । नेपालका दसनामी समुदायले जति अधिकार पाएका छन् त्यति नै अधिकारी सबैले पाउनु पर्छ ।

नेपाली नेपालीका बीच विभेद कायम रहने हो भने गणतन्त्र नै किन चाहियो ?

....... सिराहबाट हामीले प्रचण्डलाई चुन्यौं । अब रुकुम–रोल्पाबाट मधेसको नेताले पनि त जित्नुपर्छ । त्यो नभई कसरी बलियो हुन्छ नेपाल ?’ .... हामी संघीय गणतन्त्रको युगमा आइपुगेका छौं र पनि एकात्मक राज्य व्यवस्थाको शैलीमा काम गरिरहेका छौं । यसले पक्कै पनि हाम्रो समाजलाई उन्नतिशील बनाउँदैन ।

गौरमा यादवहरु द्धारा विशाल फट्टा जुलुस, लाखौं जनता सडकमा
सोमबार विहान पर्साको विरगंजमा प्रहरीले गरेको हस्तक्षेप विरुद्ध रौतहटका गोपालवंशी समुदायले सडकमा र्ओली गर्जेका छन् । के.पी शर्मा ओली नेतृत्वको सरकारका गृह मन्त्रि शक्ति बस्नेत विरुद्ध आक्रोशित हुदै लाखौंको संख्यामा रौतहटका यादव समुदाय सडकमा र्ओलेका छन् । गोपाल सेवा समितीको आह्वानमा रौतहटका विभिन्न गाँव गाँव बाट लाखौंको संख्यामा यादव समुदायका पुरुषहरु बाँसको फट्टा सहित सडकमा र्ओली वर्तमान सरकार विरुद्ध चर्को नाराबाजी गर्नुका साथै सिमा नाकामा रहेको मितेरी पुलमा मधेश आन्दोलन प्रति एकबद्धता जनाएको छ । सदरमुकाम गौरमा रहेको नयाँ बसपार्क बाट लाखौंको संख्यामा शुरु भएको सो विशाल रैली नगरको विभिन्न भाग परिक्रमा गरेको थियो भने सो रैली करीब ३ कि.मी सम्म लामो रहेको थियो ।

हात हातमा फट्टा लिएर सडकमा आएका यादव समुदायको विशाल जुलुस रौतहटमा प्रर्दशन भएका जुलुसहरु मध्ये नै सबै भन्दा विशाल जुलुस रहेको बुझिएको छ । एक्कासी प्रहरीको अनुमान भन्दा बढी आन्दोलनकारी सडकमा र्ओले पछि रौतहट प्रहरीको होस नै उडेको थियो भने चोक चोकमा रहेका सुरक्षा कर्मी हतार हतारमा प्रहरी ब्यारक छिरेका थिए ।

.... मधेशमा जारी आन्दोलन करीब ३ महिना लाग्न लाग्दा समेत वर्तमान सरकारले खासै चासो नदेखाएको र वार्ताको नाममा पटक पटक मधेशी जनताको भावनाको साथमा खेल्वाड गरेको भन्दै रौतहटका गोपालवंशी आक्रोशित बनेको तथा

छिटै मधेशको मांग पुरा नगरे ओली नेतृत्वको सरकारलाई देश भरीका गोपाल वंशी र मधेशी समुदाय एक जुट भई चाईनाको बाटो देखाउने

गोपाल सेवा समिती रौतहटका सचिव जय प्रकास यादवले चेतावनी दिए । .... त्यस्तै तमरा अभियानका रौतहट संयोजक रविन्द्र नाथ गोपालीले

चेतावनी दिएका छन् ।

तराईमा गुड्ने ट्याङ्कर यसरी हिमाल चढ्यो!



चीनको पेट्रोल पनि भन्सारमै रोकियो, राजस्व दाखिला र जाँचपासमा ढिलाई
सरकार र आयल निगमको कमजोर तयारीका कारण चीनबाट पेट्रोल लिएर आएका ट्याङ्करहरु रसुवागढी भन्सार कार्यालयमा नै रोकिएका छन्। ..... चीनको केरुङमा पेट्रोल भरेर शनिबार साँझ नै नेपाली भूमिमा प्रवेश गरेका तीन वटा ट्याङ्कर भन्सार जाँचपास र राजस्व दाखिला नहुँदा रसुवाको टिमुरे गाविसमा रहेको भन्सार कार्यालय अगाडि रोकिएका छन्। भन्सार कार्यालय र आयल निगमका अधिकारीहरुले आइतबार बिहान छलफल गरेपनि राजस्व दाखिला नभएका कारण ट्याङ्कर काठमाडौंतर्फ छुट्न पाएका छैनन्। चिनियाँ नाकाबाट पहिलो पटक पेट्रोलियम पदार्थ ल्याउन लागिएकाले भन्सार जाँचपासमा अलमल देखिएको हो। भन्सार समस्या समाधान गर्न आयल निगमका निमित्त निर्देशक दीपक बराल रसुवामा नै छन्। ..... जाँचपास र राजस्व तिर्न भएको ढिलाइका कारण आइतबार साँझसम्म नेपाली ट्याङ्करहरु टिमुरेमा नै रोकिने निश्चित भएको छ।

भन्सारको प्रक्रिया मिलेपछि पनि ट्याङ्करहरुले तेलको लोड घटाएर मात्र काठमाडौं प्रस्थान गर्नुपर्नेछ।

..... सडक कच्ची र अप्ठेरो भएकाले ट्याङ्करहरुले आफ्नो क्षमता १२ हजार लिटर पेट्रोल लिएर काठमाडौंसम्म पुग्न सक्दैनन्। त्यसैले उनीहरुले चीनबाट भरेर ल्याएको पेट्रोल अर्को कम तेल भरेको ट्याङ्करमा खन्याएर मात्र काठमाडौंतिर जानुपर्नेछ। .... शनिबार केरुङमा तेल भर्न गएका नेपाली तीनवटा ट्याङ्करमध्ये एउटाले १२ हजार लिटर भन्दा बढी अर्कोले ११ हजार लिटर र तेश्रोले ५ हजार लिटर पेट्रोल लिएर रसुवा आइपुगेका छन्। ट्याङ्कर चालक ज्ञानबहादुर तामाङ्का अनुसार दुईवटा ट्याङ्करबाट केही हजार लिटर पेट्रोल ५ हजार लिटर मात्र बोकेको तेश्रो ट्याङ्करमा खन्याएपछि मात्र काठमाडौं गइनेछ। .... चीनले अनुदानमा दिएको पेट्रोल लिन नेपालका १२ वटा ट्याङ्कर शुक्रबार रसुवा गएका थिए। जसमध्ये तीन वटाले शनिबार चीनको केरुङ पुगेर तेल भरेर आएका छन् भने बाँकी ९ वटा आइतबार केरुङ प्रस्थान गरेका छन्।

आइतबार बिहानै त्यसतर्फ गएका ट्याङ्करहरु अहिले तेल भर्ने ठाउँसम्म पुगेको हुनसक्ने आयल निगमका अधिकारीहरुको अनुमान छ।



Indian killed in Nepal police firing amid protests near border
In an incident that will add to the tense internal confrontation within Nepal and to chill in bilateral ties with India, the Nepal Police has killed an Indian citizen while firing at protestors in the Nepali border town of Birgunj. India has expressed ‘deep concern’ at the killing of ‘an innocent Indian’, even as Nepal has claimed that he was killed when police was trying to restore order after clashes with protestors. .....

The incident and clashes on Monday are a set back to the ongoing dialogue process between the government and Tarai parties, and could cause even greater disruption in supplies across the border

......... The incident happened as tensions escalated in Birgunj when the Nepal Police, early on Monday morning at 5 am or so, attacked Madhesi protestors and burnt tents at the border to clear way for movement of goods. The border has been blocked for almost 40 days with groups in Nepal’s Tarai using it as a tool to generate pressure on Kathmandu to oppose the new constitution and seek amendments...... Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs described the day’s events differently. It denied the use of any force when the police tried to clear the border in the morning, alleged that the protesters had pelted stones, and claimed that among those arrested from the site, were two Indian citizens......It said that during the period when the border was open till 10.30 am,

over 200 Indian trucks stranded on the Nepali side moved to India, but the Indian side, according to the statement, did not release vehicles from the Indian side.

“It was about 1.30 in the afternoon. We were protesting against Nepal police for its brutality when they resorted to force. I saw a young man, handsome looking, in a black vest, using an alternative route through the adjacent village return from Birgunj towards Raxaul. The police caught him.” Sah said they begged the police from a distance not to harm him - but the police shot him point-blank.

It quoted his father, Ashok Ram, as confirming that Ashish had gone to Birgunj on some personal work and was shot on his way back. ....... the police had been using live ammunition despite the stay order against use of excessive force by the Supreme Court. ....... The incident has caused anger in the bordering Indian town of Raxaul. Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, a local businessman who has been running a mess for the Madhesi protestors, told HT, “Till now, Nepal police had been killing Madhesis. Now they are killing Indians also. We want action against them and compensation for the family.

The boy was an only son and comes from a poor background.”

....... With increased protests on the Madhesi side and the tense standoff, border crossings were closed on Monday with even the limited supplies shrinking. ..... The border is open, there is free movement of people, unrest in Tarai is bound to affect Indian citizens and interests. “Nepal government is playing with fire. It needs to get its house in order and this can only happen if it talks and listens to disaffected sections of the population, not through force.” .... The security crackdown is expected to cause a setback in the government’s talks with the Madhesi parties. On Sunday, the government had officially agreed to review the issue of federal demarcation through a political agreement. But the current environment, Madhesi leaders said, made them doubt the government’s intentions. They promised to intensify the agitation.

Nepal is in crisis, and it has nothing to do with the earthquake. Here’s what you need to know.
Nepal is edging closer to a humanitarian crisis potentially even bigger than the massive earthquake that struck in April. This time, however, it’s a political crisis rooted in Nepal’s social divisions. ...... Nepal’s new constitution, passed in September, has generated significant controversy. Ethnic minorities have taken to the streets in large-scale protests against the discriminatory provisions of the new governing order. Amid the dispute, fuel exports from India have halted, creating an escalating emergency as the winter approaches. ..... The long-stalled writing process accelerated after the earthquake, which placed pressure on elites to resolve their political disputes. But the parties saw this an opportunity to rush through a constitution that

consolidated the conservative establishment’s power

....... the new constitution has left much of the nation deeply disappointed. It is the people of the plains area bordering India, called Madhesis, who are angered most. New provisions reject full citizenship to children born of a Nepali and a foreigner and ban these offspring from being elected to higher office........ To the Madhesis, who often marry Indians across the border, this is blatant discrimination. When coupled with new federal boundaries that deny them a province, Madhesis view the new constitution as an overt attack on their community......... India’s sympathy for Madhesi demands has heightened tension. Many view it as evidence of an Indian-backed Madhesi “fifth column” determined to undermine Nepalese national identity. ....... The hyper-nationalistic notion that India – and not the Madhesis – are behind the protests has weakened the movement. .......

China is unlikely to benefit from the tension between Nepal and India.

...... the sparsely populated and mountainous border between Nepal and China is inhospitable to trade. While Nepali nationalists would like to see Nepal move into China’s embrace, India remains the country’s natural ally, despite recent strains. ........

While resentment between the political elite and indigenous groups has risen significantly, accommodating Madhesi demands would bring broader buy-in for the new constitution. The resulting political stability would end the fuel crisis, avert humanitarian disaster, and could facilitate much needed development.

..... The alternative path is perilous. If Madhesi and other ethnic demands are ignored, the anti-constitution movement could become more radical. Separatist factions could emerge while the fuel shortage could hurt millions. The decisions of Nepal’s political establishment in the coming weeks and months will have lasting consequences.


In Nepal the Pols Play Their Game of Thrones, But Winter Is Coming
More than six months after the earthquake that devastated Nepal, the government has yet to begin disbursing $4.1 billion in aid, and the cold is setting in. ..... in addition to the 7.6 magnitude earthquake in April, a second 7.3 quake struck Nepal on May 12. The combined devastation resulted in almost 9,000 deaths, with many more thousands injured, and a third of Nepal’s population—approximately eight million people—having their lives disrupted in one serious way or another. An estimated 850,000 homes were either destroyed or badly damaged. In some districts, over 90 percent of the buildings were flattened. .......

The Indian Army played the most significant international role.

..... In June, finally, the government proposed a bill that would establish the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), a body slated to handle the disbursement of the $4.1 billon that had poured in from international well wishers......

And then nothing happened.

..... As unbelievable as this may sound, as of today, the NRA is still not operational and the $4.1 billion have not been distributed...... There was an irony here: For nearly eight years, the CA had dragged its feet and allowed itself to be distracted by inter-political haggling, thus failing to draft a new charter. But by early 2015, the completion of the constitution was put on the fast track and the politicians suddenly became hell-bent on getting the draft approved. With that accomplished, a new government could immediately be formed and then it could be established what to do about earthquake relief and—not so incidentally—which party would hold the reins of NRA disbursement. .......... Because of the Constituent Asslembly’s preoccupation with completing the constitution writing, the earthquake disaster was kept on the backburner. Reconstruction funds were frozen from the get-go and, even worse, remain frozen today. ...... People who lost their homes have received little aid beyond an initial $150 per-household government payout. They were promised $2,000, but until the legitimate status of the NRA is established, no additional funds can go out. ......... Likewise, because of the NRA fiasco, building codes for new construction have been slow to be published, creating mounting frustration for those—including NGOs—who would like to get started on new construction before winter sets in. In the absence of clear guidelines, no one really knows what the government’s support for reconstruction will look like. To give but one example,

last month a major Indian NGO abandoned its plans to build 100 health posts because the Nepal government insisted on “lavish” demands including marble floors and granite work surfaces. Someone in the bureaucracy was trying to get rich on the down low.

......... All the decision-making took place outside the CA building. The formulation of a new constitution took place in private homes. If I remember correctly, there were only 16 to 20 people who were really involved in writing the constitution—this out of 601 CA members. Of these 16 to 20 people, only 10 were elected members of the CA. The rest of the “writers” were people who were defeated in the elections. ...... the issues that people in the south had fought for were never introduced in the CA for discussion. .... The earthquakes put Nepal under the international klieg lights. In a sense,

the country had two runaway trains to deal with.

One was created by Mother Nature. The other was man-made, spearheaded by the leaders of the three main political parties, carving the country into federal states. ............ The international community (except for China, which kept mum) cautioned the leaders to slow down a little, to take more time and rethink the manner in which they were delineating the boundaries of the federal states—particularly around the traditionally marginalized communities in the south. ..... Summer is the monsoon season in Nepal. This year, heavy downpours washed away crucial roads, which, in turn, eliminated rescue operations from reaching remote and even not-so-remote areas hardest hit by the earthquakes that hit in the late spring. There was no question of being able to construct new buildings during the monsoon. The most one could do was to distribute tarps and corrugated metal roofing to fend off the rains until September. ....... But just when the skies began to clear, the blockades were imposed, thereby eliminating the ability of vehicles to deliver fuel, supplies and construction materials to the devastated areas. As a result, the odds of helping earthquake victims before the onset of winter grow worse by the day. Without fuel, over 80,000 families in dire need of durable shelter and numerous relief items have been stranded and left wondering how they will survive the impending cold weather. ....... Some people have reported buying petrol ten times the regular price. Likewise, cooking gas is all but unavailable, prompting even well heeled families to resort to wood-burning stoves. ....... Tourism, which accounts for a significant percentage of Nepal’s GDP, has all but evaporated; Chinese Eastern Airlines cancelled all flights to Nepal, citing the unavailability of aviation fuel at the Kathmandu airport, and Chinese tourists have evanesced.

The economy is bleeding in every direction.

......... Even if the blockades were lifted tomorrow and fuel became easily available, even if the government reinstated the NRA overnight—two very unlikely scenarios—many experts say it is already too late to “winterize” the most remote areas in Nepal. The window before winter arrives in Nepal has now narrowed down to one or two more weeks. ........ A backlog of 1,200 metric tons of shelter and non-food items is already stuck in storage warehouses, unable to reach targeted earthquake communities—first because of the monsoons and now because of the scarcity of fuel. ....... They survived the monsoon, but sub-zero temperatures and snow-blocked mountain passes will be far more challenging—particularly for the elderly, children and pregnant women. Cold-related illnesses are inevitable.

People are going to freeze to death in Nepal this winter. The question is: how many? Communication options are so limited that we may not really know until spring.

....... मधेस आन्दोलन चर्किनुको कारण भनेको आत्मसम्मानको खोजी हो ........ उनिहरु जनताको हक अधिकार भनि हिड्छन् तर कुन हक अधिकार जनतालाई दिलाउनु पर्छ भन्ने कुरा नै नबुझि हिडिरहेका हुन्छन् । यो कुरा बुझ्न २१ औँ शताब्दी सापेक्ष नेतृत्वको आबश्यकता पर्दछ जस्को कमि नेपालको नेतृत्वमा देखिएको हो । त्यसकारण त्यस्तो समस्या तराईमा देखिएको हो यस्तै हो भने यो समस्या पुरा देशमा फैलिन सक्छ । ......

जबसम्म हामी नेपालीले ठिक नेता चुन्दैनौ तब सम्म् हामी अरुको आधारमा चल्नु पर्ने हुन्छ ।

....... समस्या नभएको क्षेत्र नै छैन तर समस्या समाधानको लागि त लाग्नु प¥यो नि कर्मचारी भनेको हात खुट्टा हो तर मुख्य दिमाग भनेको त राजनिति नै हो यस्तो अबस्थामा मुख्य नियन्त्रण गर्ने दिमाग नै सहि छैन भने अरु कसरी सहि हुन सक्दछ । अहिले को केन्द्रिय राजनिति पनि समय सापेक्षिक भएन जस्तो लाग्छ । २१ औँ शताब्दीमा पनि २० औँ शताब्दीको परम्परामा राजनिति गरेर हुँदैन । ......

भुकम्पमा राम्रो काम भयो सबैले राम्रो भने तर त्यस्को बिश्लेषण गर्दा नेपालले देश बनाउन सक्छ त्यो प्रमाणित भयो तर कुन बेलामा सक्छन् भन्दा जब समाज भताभुङ्ग भाको छ त्यस्तो समयमा र देशको शासक हराएको बेलामा मात्र नेपाली युवा अघि आउँछ तर त्यहि समाज र शासक हाबी हुदाँ उनिहरु आउन सक्दैनन् ।

त्यसकारण नेपाल फेरि बन्नको लागि शासक परिवर्तन हुनु पर्छ र समाज बिबेकशिल हुन पर्दछ । ......... हामीले मधेशमा पनि सञ्जाल बनाईरहेका छौ कि त्यहा पनि युवालाई संगठित बनाई सहि बाटोमा लान सकुन् । .....

आफ्नो देश आफै बनाउनुस् यहाँ बुद्ध, मण्डेला र गान्धी जन्मिदैनन् ।
